Availability analysis for a multi-component system with different k-out-of-n:G warm standby subsystems subject to suspended animation

Abstract

Industrial equipment or systems are usually constructed with kout-of-n:G subsystems in series to fulfill a specified function[14]. The k-out-of-n:G structure is a common type of redundancy used to improve the reliability and availability of engineering systems. A kout-of-n:G system refers to a system that is functional if and only if at least k out of n components within the system are functional[31].
