User interface design and programming for computer science majors

Abstract

A Computer Science major programme typically has far more material than can be jitted into the m7aiKabletime. This paper describes an innovative course that combines study of human-computer interaction with adsancedprogram-ng techniques and the use of user inteiface construction tools. The course interweaves the learidng of several programming tools for interjace construction with the development of knowledge and skills in the design of user interlaces. W describe the ratwnale for the course design, our evaluation of student learning and the response to Zhecoarse.
