Simple, small size, low cost and low time jitter optical pulse generator with wide range tunable repetition rate

Abstract

We have developed an compact ultra-low time-jitter pulse generator using LD and self-pulse feedback mechanism. Sub-picosecond low time jitters are successfully observed at any modulation range of between 0.5- and 3-GHz. The pulse generator's size and cost are similar to conventional LD module.
