Sir Alexander Blackie William Kennedy, 1847-1928

Abstract

Sir Alexander Blackie William Kennedy , who was born at Stepney on 17 March , 1847, was the eldest son of the Rev. John Kennedy, D .D . His mother, from whom he received his second Christian name, was Helen Stodart Blackie, a sister of John Stuart Blackie, the well-known classical scholar and Professor of Greek at Edinburgh University.
