Abstract
The main objective of this work is to aid the military. A Drone Swarm Surveillance system is used for general patrolling and surveillance in restricted areas. Virtual Reality is a technology that makes this process easier by simulating real-life experiences and allows people to create simulations of the real scenarios and carry out necessary actions and behaviour. The UAVs/drones simulation offers a wide range of operations in the defense domain such as keeping a check over assigned areas, to spy on suspicious people, for search operations, delivery of arms and ammunition and many more. Virtual Reality (VR) in defense monitoring and surveillance offers the functionality where a military personnel can patrol a rough terrestrial area without risking their lives. Here, A simulation is created where each drone can acquire real time images in the environment at any moment of time, when a military personnel commands it, by clicking the assigned keys to acquire images of the criminal activities in a local file system. Furthermore, Image Processing can be done after preparing a data set of the acquired real-time images to automate this process by training. The Monitoring system enables drones moving in an aero-formation to ‘segregate’ which allows them to cover more area in less time. The swarm of drones can then ‘aggregate’ back according to their directed pre-defined paths. This work offers the functionality of drone path mapping which can be used by concerned authorities according to their security needs. The Path Planning can be done throughout the 3D environment by laying out the integrated Waypoint System.
