Abstract

In this paper a computer aided design (CAD) of receiver front-end at X band with high gain, low noise figure (NF) and high dynamic range (DR) is presented. The receiver has two stage of down-conversion, filtering and amplification. A digitally controlled self-sustained feedback scheme has been implemented to achieve constant output power over 70 dB DR. A thorough simulation is carried out using system simulation software. A prototype is fabricated with external dimension of 10x8.1x2.6 cm. Fabricated prototype has measured gain of 98 dB, NF of 2.5dB.
