Abstract
Prevailing Maker movement generates a novel innovation and product development approach, namely Maker product development approach. The open and free characteristics of Maker product development approach brings amazing advantages and also problems at the same time. For amateur Makers and student Makers, it's easy for them to generate innovative ideas but difficult to turn ideas into prototypes. And especially for Makers who would like to further develop their prototypes into fine designed commercial products. Hence, in this paper, an integrated pattern using different innovation methods for Makers' product development is proposed based on Maker product development process and innovation methods classifycation. The promoted approach is verified through a case study of student Maker project.
