Abstract
Objective: to analyze the resilience of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) in dialysis treatment, including their dissatisfaction with adversity and the evaluation of means of overcoming. Methods: this is an exploratory descriptive exploratory study with a quantitative approach, using a sociodemographic questionnaire characterizing gender, age, and educational level, as well as the Resilience Scale, developed by Wagnild and Young, consisting of 25 items, quoted in a 7-point Likert scale. Data collection occurred in August 2018 through individual interviews in the nephrology sector. Results: it was possible to identify that the factors that have the most items are those related to perseverance and self confidence, with Cronbach's alpha of 0.73 and 0.74, respectively. Conclusion: patients have a tendency to resilience, and index to control coping with hemodialysis treatment. Descriptors: Resilience, Resilience in nursing, Resilience in the hemodialytic patient.
