The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the application of the STEM approach in improving the mathematical abilities of elementary, junior high, high school and university students. SLR (systematic literature review)  is used to synthesize studies related to the purpose of this study. The main twenty-eight studies published between 2017 and 2022 that met the inclusion criteria were found using Google Scholar search engines, WoS, Garuda Portal, DOAJ, ERIC, and national journal direct url. According to research findings, the STEM approach has a beneficial effect on improving students' mathematical abilities. The integrated STEM approach is a STEM approach that is very suitable for use in learning with a STEM approach. Further research can be carried out by looking at several research variables, including sampling techniques, level of education, and year of study. Teachers can use the STEM approach to help students with various project-based activities.
