Abstract
In most of the studies focusing on mental rotation, researchers have used classic mental rotation paradigms. In a few more recent studies, new paradigms have emerged, but the effect sizes were small, sex-based performance measurements showed mixed results, and most paradigms were not standardized. In this paper, I describe the paradigm that I am willing to standardize and use on a large user base to investigate whether VR environments have any effect on the process and the performance measures of mental rotation. I expect subjects to have better performances when discriminating between stimuli in the presented VR environment.
