AUTHENTIC THINKING AS A REPRESENTATION OF POSTPOSTOMODERNISTIC VIEWPOINTS (IN MARK HADDON’S NOVEL “THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME”)

Abstract

In the paper, the author has analyzed the peculiarities of Christopher’s philosophy, the protagonist of the novel “The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time” by English writer Mark Haddon. It is emphasized that protagonist’s outlook embodies the principles of scientific approach of the reality and reveals the forms of new humanism. The cognitive specificity of the thinking of the teenager with Asperger's syndrome has been outlined: the inability to distinguish irony and the connotative meaning of words, the perception of God and the transcendental matters, the idealization of mathematics and the concept of “prime numbers”, etc.
