Abstract
Bidding strategies is a process of selecting the best approach to get a project from a group of projects and with the influence of competitors. The evaluation of bidding strategies usually involves a complex decision-making process since subjective judgment plays a major role in effecting the decision process. The process for assessing and evaluating contractors bidding strategies is dependent in most projects on subjective expertise judgment based on a certain number of criteria elements. The importance and the level of contribution of each criteria element can be estimated based on experience and judgment of qualified cost engineers. In this paper, a computerized model for evaluating the reasons for failure in bidding strategies is presented. The model is based on a Fuzzy-Probabilistic Deductive Tree Analysis Approach (FPDTA). This model involves identifying a possible condition of the bidding strategy system and determining the various events and combination of the criteria that contribute to the occurrence of that condition.
