Abstract

In this paper, we propose a cooperative relay protocol in which the data transmission between a source and a destination is performed via the assistance of one full-energy (FE) relay and one energy harvesting (EH) relay. In addition, the EH relay harvests energy from the radio frequency (RF) signals of the source and the FE relay, follows a time switching method. For performance evaluation, we derive exact and asymptotic expressions of outage probability (OP) for the proposed protocol over Rayleigh fading channels.
