Abstract

The classical boundary value problem of electromagnetic plane wave diffraction by a conducting wedge serves as a canonical geometry to study the effect of varying wall thickness on the induced surface currents. This first principles analysis is a preliminary effort toward understanding the impact of the common assumption of infinitesimally thin walls in electromagnetic scattering and coupling problems. Both TM and TE polarizations are included in this two-dimensional frequency domain scattering problem.
