Traceability issues in a deregulated electricity market in Sweden

Abstract

The electricity market in Sweden has been deregulated since 1996. SP being the National Metrology Institute in Sweden has been very active in establishing traceable measurements on the market and served as a centre of competence for authorities, utilities as well as for households. Since 1989 SP has performed measurements to verify voltage transformers in substations in the Swedish National Grid. Methods for the calculation of measurement uncertainty have been developed by SP and is now widely used in both Sweden and in Norway. A data base for reliability studies of electricity meters are now also in operation
