The information given in the work named Bughyat at-Talab fi Tarikh Halab , which is among the main sources of Medieval History, involves trustworthy information for the cities and events of this period. Moreover, the author used many written and rumors to increase the trustworthiness of the information he gave in the work. Even though the work named Bughyat at-Talab fi Tarikh Halab , which is among the works of Islamic geographers, does not resemble classical geography works, it can be said that it was written in the style of the Iraqi Ecole. The fact that Ibn al-Adim is both from Baghdad and also he is loyal to the Iraqi Geography Ecole is the most important point that causes the work to be centered on Aleppo. Because of this feature, the work involves valuable information enlightening the historical panorama of Aleppo and its geography. Geographical conditions of the cities located in and around Aleppo constitute the main point of the work. Yet, this information is not limited with geographical information. The presence of many more information such as historical, economic, religious and cultural was detected as a result of the content scan of the work. By the means of these precious information, the work is of great importance not only for today’s historians, but also to make it easier for us to understand the Medieval History. EXTENDED ABSTRACT: Ibn al-Adim is one of the important figures of the tribe from Uqaylid. He took lessons from important scholars from a young age by going to regions such as Jerusalem, Damascus, Iraq and Hejaz. Ibn al-Adim, who is shown among the most important scholars of the period with these sciences, also contributed to the training of many scholars by working as a professor in Sadbaht and Hallaviyya madrasahs. Being one of the key figures of the Ayyubids period and the information he gained through his mission as an ambassador, he formed the dough of the works that he wrote. Ibn al-Adim, who had a versatile personality such as a good historian, hafiz, muhaddis, and man of letters, reflected this feature in his works besides being a statesman like his ancestors. The most famous and important one is Bughyat at-Talab fi Tarikh Halab although the author has many works. The work called Bughyat at-Talab fi Tarikh Halab is one of the most outstanding examples of urban historiography. Ibn al-Adim took the works of Hatib el-Baghdadi's Tarikhu Baghdad and Ibn Asakir's Tarikhu Medinet el-Dimask as an example while writing the work. The work was written according to the classical understanding of history.
