The full-bridge rectifier is used for converting AC voltage to DC voltage. Buck converter has a similar application to a transformer where a transformer is used for AC and converter is used for DC. The charging and discharging of the battery, is done by a charge controller which monitors the SOC of the battery and based on that the necessary control action will be taken. Abstract

In this paper, charging and discharging of a battery for an Electric vehicle application is done with the help of bidirectional converter with suitable charge controller.
