Abstract

Infrared ship detection aiming at remote-sensing image is important in image processing to get priority in current war today. A background suppression method based on improved Top-Hat filtering and saliency map is presented for the detection. Firstly, Top-Hat filtering with linear combination of the open and close operators is utilized on the infrared remote-sensing image input. The filtering employs different structure operators with the same shape as the object image.
