The Future of K-POP as a Reboot

Abstract

This thesis corresponds to K-POP, which boasts of a musical function that is universally accepted. Through this, the present status and future of K-POP were considered. First, the concept of ‘reboot’ terminology was summarized, and prior research on the reboot phenomenon was summarized. ‘Reboot’ is a concept that is mainly used in movies, and previous studies that approached the same method used in movies in K-pop were confirmed. Research was conducted by approaching K-POP with the ‘reboot’ word itself, which was not covered in previous studies, and it was divided into the remake craze and the reverse run of the music charts. Through this reboot phenomenon, it was possible to confirm the current status of K-pop and to consider the future.
