Abstract

This paper deals with the queueing analysis of IP networks carrying streaming traffic. The main focus of the analysis is the jitter which is a widely used performance characteristic of that type of traffic. The study is carried out by a novel technique using Quasi-Birth-Death processes in a matrix-geometric approach.
