Therefore, the author put forward Yang Dongfang model on the variation patterns of Hg content in both surface and bottom waters. The vertical distribution changes of Hg content in Jiaozhou Bay from 1986 to 1990 adequately unveiled the sedimentation process of Hg as it was deposited constantly and rapidly on the seabed. With the analysis of the surveys carried out from 1986 to 1990, we found that the water effects of Hg varied in different seasons. In spring, Hg content in surface waters represented dilution effects on the seabed. In the summer of the same year, the Hg in surface waters was diluted on the seabed but it was sometimes accumulated there.
