Abstract

A ‘mobile ad-hoc network’ (MANET) is formed by the cooperative effort of wireless nodes, without any fixed infrastructure. Communication among the nodes is either in single hop or multi-hop fashion. Owing to their dynamic topology and limited bandwidth, maintaining quality of service in such a network is a difficult task. This paper provides an enhancement to an existing routing protocol, namely AOMDV. It considers channel free time and available bandwidths while selecting path. Simulation of modified protocol shows a better throughput with lower end to end delay.
