Abstract
Exergames, or active video games, opened new possibilities for the diversification of Physical Education practices at school, allowing students to exercise while playing digital games. In this paper we present a study that focused on the understanding whether exergames could contribute to the development of positive student attitude toward Physical Education. In the study carried out, the attitude of a group of 28 students was evaluated under a double component perspective involving affective and cognitive aspects. The participants attended an exergame lab once a week, for a period of 20 weeks. After this period, all of them answered the Student Attitude Toward Physical Education Survey (SATPES). Results led to the conclusion that exergame practices have a good potential to be integrated into the Physical Education curriculum, opening new possibilities for the use of technology in classes.
