High-Voltage Test of Silicone Composite Insulators, Comparison Between New Ones and Aged in Service

Abstract

The paper presents a study of the effects of in-service aging of composite silicone insulators, which are increasingly used in the overhead power lines of Bulgaria. The insulators were tested with power frequency high voltage according to the relevant standards. The obtained results are compared with test results for new insulators.
