Abstract

The electrical arc furnaces of a direct current (EAFDC) have a lot of relevant advantages in comparison with furnaces of alternating-current. Low level of usage of electrodes and energy, a flame resistance, stable combustion of an arc, minor deterioration of quality parameters of the electric power concern to such advantages. But the most important advantage of EAFDC as contrasted to furnaces of alternating current is lower flicker effect.
