Abstract

In high-power applications, including ship propulsion, aviation, military, medical device applications, and paper mills, multi-phase induction motors are used because of their enhanced torque density, fault tolerance, volume reduction, noise reduction, and current per phase. This research examines three stator supply methods for six-phase and three-phase induction motors. A six-phase inverter and multi-phase transformer conversion approach compare the harmonic behavior of six-phase and three-phase induction motors.
