PENINGKATAN KAPASISTAS PETUGAS LAPANGAN DALAM PEMANENAN POPULASI SATWA LIAR LESTARI GUNA MENGURANGI INTENSITAS GANGGUAN SATWA

Abstract

Gangguan satwa liar merupakan salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh masyarakat di lahan budidayanya.  Guna mengatasi atau mengurangi tingkat gangguan tersebut, masyarakat sering mengadu ke petugas lapangan dari Cabang Dinas Kehutanan Wilayah VIII, Dinas Kehutanan Provinsi Jawa Barat.  Dalam pengaduan tersebut, masyarakat sering meminta untuk dapat menangkap dari sebagian populasi satwa liar tersebut.  Akan tetapi, salah satu kendala yang dihadapi oleh petugas adalah tidak mengetahui cara penentuan jumlah populasi yang boleh ditangkap.  Oleh karena itu, pelatihan telah dilakukan terhadap para petugas dengan materi terdiri dari teknik inventarisasi satwa, pendugaan daya dukung habitat, dan pendugaan jumlah satwa yang dapat ditangkap.  Para petugas menyampaikan bahwa materi pelatihan sebagian besar dapat difahami dan bermanfaat dalam menjawab permasalahan terkait dengan gangguan satwa liar.  Kata kunci: dinas kehutanan, gangguan, hama hutan, pemanenan populasi, satwa liar The disturbance of wildlife is one of the problems that are often faced by the community in their cultivation land. In order to overcome or reduce the level of disturbance, the community often complains to field officers from the Regional VIII Forestry Service Branch, Provincial Forestry Service of West Java. In these complaints, the community often asks to be able to capture some of the wildlife population. However, one of the obstacles faced by officers is not knowing how to determine the number of populations that can be arrested. Therefore, training has been carried out for the officers with material consisting of animal inventory techniques, estimation of carrying capacity of habitats, and estimation of the number of animals that can be caught. The officers said that most of the training materials were understandable and useful in answering problems related to wildlife disturbance.  Keywords: disturbance, forest pest, forest service, population harvesting, wildlife
