Abstract

One can only welcome a publication on Jewish Libya, a field of study that is still quite neglected in comparison with the number of works published on other North African countries, and Morocco in particular. However, whereas the images in this book are abundant, one remains somewhat dissatisfied by the texts. The volume covers a long historical span that ranges from the Jewish revolt against the Romans in Cyrenaica (in eastern Libya) to the pogrom of 1967 and the subsequent departure of the last Jews from the country.
