The IPMSM is designed by the proposed procedure so as to meet the torque ripple requirement with the required maximum torque. The designed rotor has a V-shape-magnet arrangement and circular flux-barrier which is placed at the center of a rotor yoke between N- and S-poles. An experimental IPMSM has been constructed based on the resulting design. Abstract
