Abstract

The results of the study of the MARK-4B antenna system of RT -32 radio telescope functional capabilities in S- and X-band are presented. The frequency bands for effective antenna system operation were determined in the study. A theoretical and experimental study of the corrugated feed horn operation possibilities in the S- and X-band has been carried out. The radiation pattern of the antenna system was measured using the Cygnus A radio source in two frequency subranges of the X-band. It is shown that the antenna system can work effectively in the found frequency subranges of S-and X-band. Some promising options for design of a waveguide system for separating S-/X-band signals with orthogonal polarizations are presented.
