Virtual worlds as metaphors for Web sites exploration: are they effective?

Abstract

The article discusses the effectiveness of desktop virtual reality as a metaphor for navigating through information in structured Web sites. The work is based on a model for information classification and an architecture for generating VR interfaces from XML and DTD documents describing the Web site structure.
