Smart Living Society Begins with A Holistic Digital Economy: A Multi-Level Insight

Abstract

This paper aims to review the birth of smart living society by using an inductive approach. A multi-level analysis is proposed to explore the effort to achieve smart living society by examining Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. A detailed framework is developed to illustrate the utilization of multi-level analysis in TOE. This inductive bottom-up reasoning intends to materialize a smart living society in a holistic digital economy in Malaysia and to study in detail each element embedded in the framework. A preliminary survey was conducted and it revealed that tools currently used by firms, most required no or low maintenance cost.
