Abstract
This chapter is part of the book Epistemological Foundation in Social Work, published by the Faculty of Humanities and Education of the Corporación Universitaria del Caribe—CECAR. Various historical moments of professional training in Social Work are oriented, framed in the documentary review of diverse representative authors in the Social Sciences, generating a timeline —from the world, Latin American and Colombian orders— in which the profession was developed, highlighting the importance of knowing the historical background of Social Work. As a main purpose, the important disciplinary strength of Social Work is evidenced, thus achieving the training of professionals, bearing in mind the theoretical-conceptual foundations that gave rise to historical analysis in the different moments and stages of Social Work. The reference is to the global framework, presenting the configuration in Latin America and, finally, in Colombia. You will find dissertations, evaluation and analysis by the authors of this document, taking into account their experience in Social Work.
