Field Test on Seasonal Behavior of an Electric Vehicle in Everyday Operation

Abstract

In this paper, the seasonal driving characteristics of an electric vehicle are investigated. Therefore, a two-year lasting field test has been done. In the test, the vehicle was driven for about 60,000 km on all sorts of regular roads. The driven distance and energy consumption for driving and charging were recorded for every driving cycle. Out of these data seasonal consumption differences, charging losses, battery degradation and statistical operating data of daily usage have been determined.
