Abstract

Jack 1 is an original meta-music piece which randomly builds a multilevel data structure to generate, extend andsequence musical shapes. Jack 1 is presented as an experiment in generating high-level, engaging music using simple ideas about pattern, shape and supershape,growth, and formal zoning.
