By setting credible speed limits on the network of two-lane roads, the percentage of exceeding speed limits would be reduced, and at the same time, the efficiency and safety of traffic would be improved. The aim of this paper is to analyse the deviations of the exploitation speeds of the traffic flow from the limit values on the section of the two-lane highway M-I-108 Klupe - Teslić (Barići) and to potentially investigate a credible speed limit on the longitudinal gradient (ascent/fall). The results obtained potentially recommend models for local conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina for determining the exceeded speed limits on two-lane roads, as well as determination of the 85th percentile value of the speed.
