The Situation of Implementing the Strategic Management in the Sudanese banks (An empirical study on the Sudanese Islamic Bank, Savings and Social Development Bank and Faisal Islamic Bank of Sudan)

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to investigate the Sudanese banks' situation in applying strategic management. The research problem investigated the extent the Sudanese banking sector apply and practice strategic management. The authors utilized the descriptive approach through using a questionnaire, an interview, and an observation. The questionnaire was distributed purposefully to the sample of 120 participants (directors, financial directors, head of departments and employees) in three Sudanese banks. By processing data via SPSS, the findings of the study revealed the following: the mean score of the section of situation of applying strategic management in Sudanese banks was 4.51 out of 5( M=4.51) by a percentage of (89%), indicating very high degree of application while the mean score of the mean strategic analysis of the environment (SWOT) was 4.36 out of 5( M=4.36) by a percentage of (87.3%), indicating a very high degree of application. Based on the findings, the author put forward some recommendations; the most important of which were necessity of the banks' adoption of the comprehensive quality management to achieve continuous improvement, encouragement of conduction of studies and benefitting from research and educational centers in the field of research and development in order to be able to solve problems encountered by Sudanese banks. الملخص: هدفت هذه الدراسة للتعرف على واقع تطبيق الإدارة الاستراتيجية والتحليل الاستراتيجي للبيئة في المصارف السودانية، تمثلت مشكلة الدراسة في مدى تطبيق وممارسة الإدارة الاستراتيجية في قطاع المصارف السودانية، استخدم الباحثان المنهج الوصفي التحليلي؛ باستخدام استبانة تم توزيعها على عينة عمدية بلغت (100) مستجيب؛ (مدراء إداريين وماليين ورؤساء أقسام وموظفين) في ثلاثة مصارف سودانية، وبمعالجة البيانات باستخدام البرنامج (SPSS) كشفت نتائج الدراسة الآتي: حصل محور واقع تطبيق الإدارة الاستراتيجية في المصارف السودانية لتحقيق ميزة تنافسية على متوسط كلي (4.51 من 5) وبنسبة (89%) بدرجة تطبيق (مرتفعة جداً)؛ فيما حصل محور التحليل الاستراتيجي للبيئة في المصارف السودانية على متوسط كلي (4.36 من 5) وبنسبة (87.3%) بدرجة تطبيق (مرتفعة جداً). وبناءً على نتائج الدراسة قدم الباحثان مجموعة من التوصيات والمقترحات؛ أهمها: ضرورة اعتماد المصارف إدارة الجودة الشاملة بغرض التحسين المستمر، تشجيع الاهتمام بالدراسات والبحوث والاستفادة من المراكز البحثية والتعليمية في مجال في البحث والتطوير بغرض حل المشكلات.
