Abstract

A technique to design a low loss compact Butler matrix is presented in CB-CPW technology. Compact crossovers are used for the miniaturization. A 4 × 4 Butler matrix is fabricated. It provides at least 70% size reduction than a conventional compact Butler matrix using meandered geometry. Measurement results show that the design approach presented here do not degrade frequency response of the Butler matrix.
