Abstract

An equal gain power divider (EGPD) is proposed for heterogeneous combined antennas (HCA). The design of the EGPD is in consideration of the phases of the power divider, the feed and the phase center of the HCA. A 24 GHz application case of the EGPD is given, where the two antennas of the HCA are a Vivaldi antenna (radiating in end-fire direction) and a wideband high efficiency electromagnetic structure (radiating in broadside direction). The antenna realizes a [S11] less than -10dB within 23–28 GHz. A 6.3 dBi typical gain is realized in both the end-fire and the broadside directions.
