Abstract

In ATM networks, congestion usually results in cell loss. In this paper, an arbiter method for congestion control is proposed. Based on the time limit and priority, the cells that compete for the same output line could be lined according to the character of real-time services. We define /spl Pi//sub ij/ as the transmission probability of a cell to be transmitted from the input line i to the output line j.
