Abstract

Iris Localization is the most challenging part of any Iris Recognition System. A lot of work has been done in efficient localization of iris but by taking the assumption that the person is looking straight into the Camera used for image capturing. To make this idea of Biometric System more robust, this paper introduces a new idea of polynomial curve fitting along with singleton expansion to accurately and efficiently localize the iris in any direction and distance from the camera. Also, a highly accurate pupil contour localization method is proposed which can be used in diagnosis of several eye related disorders.
