Abstract

An enhancement of the H.264/AVC transcoding is proposed in this paper. The drift problem in the transcoder is addressed by including spatial intra prediction in image reconstruction. A two-step adaptive intra-mode decision algorithm based on angle information and SATD ranking is introduced to reduce the complexity.
