Is There Such Thing as A Ceteris Paribus Law

Abstract

The paper tries to argue:(1)CP clauses,which may include infinite conditions,could be ineliminable even with scientific terminology.(2)We can test the contraposition of a CP law,therefore the law itself.(3)Earman's account of differential equations may violate his Mill-Ramsey-Lewis view of laws of nature.So differential equations of the evolution type could be laws as well.The author also raise a thought experiment,which illustrates Earman's diction between conditions for the truth of a law and conditions for the validity of its application may be inconsistent with Earman's supervenience thesis.
