The strategy yielded excellent results, and THD values as low as 2.98 percent met IEEE 519 standards and maintained the same efficiency in cases of the sudden transient load change. Abstract

In this paper, one of the most important and latest Shunt Active Power Filter control strategies has been achieved; finite Control Set-Model Predictive Control in Synchronous Reference Frame (FCS-MPC SRF) is one of the most straightforward strategies to achieve and has very high efficiency in tracking the reference current due to the predictive model that it is characterized by, and compared with the reference current using the optimization equation that produces DQ-axis voltages that will be used as a reference voltage for the Space Vector Modulation inputs. The strategy yielded excellent results, and THD values as low as 2.98 percent met IEEE 519 standards and maintained the same efficiency in cases of the sudden transient load change. The results have been obtained in a MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.
