Abstract
The paper presents a new method of controlling a brushless DC motor (BLDC), which allows to increase the starting torque. The BLDC motor is controlled in configuration C60Q+. This is the current control method, which allows for even load distribution on each the switching transistor of electronic commutator. The new method of BLDC motor controlling increases the starting torque basing on the information about the value of current, voltage, rotor position and analysis of angle rotation of engine terms of stator. On the basis of information received, the switching transistors are switched at the appropriate time with specified frequency for a particular rotor position. The algorithm provides a control signal to the switching transistors at the right time and at a specific frequency. The simulations were performed for brushless DC motor of type 14 4 with continuous power equal to 2kW and peak power equal to 3kW. Applying of a new control method increased value of starting torque by 9-15% and eliminated dead zone of torque in the entire engine operating range.
