Abstract

This paper presents a direct vector control scheme used for the positioning of servomotors. As is well known, direct vector control requires accurate information about rotor flux. To provide such information, the authors propose a new estimation algorithm that combines the recursive prediction error method-RPEM-with a linear Kalman filter. The RPEM algorithm makes the rotor resistance estimation and calculates the gains of the Kalman filter which makes the rotor flux estimation. The authors present digital simulations using the proposed scheme that highlight the effectiveness of vector control.
