Abstract

Building Technology encompasses the materials and tools of construction as well as the design methods and techniques that stage architectural appearance. A project's delivery from design to construction then situates the architect's interactions with technology, defining the possibilities and limits of the architectural imagination in practice. My research shows how the architect's role is affected by technological phenomena that re‐conceptualize the means and methods of construction, expanding relationships between project delivery and architectural qualities. This talk will reveal my pursuit of this work in environments of extreme resourcefulness, its influence on my teaching and creative practice that advances the complex exchange between building technology and architectural expression.
