Abstract
In this paper, we demonstrate an optimized multiplexing method for remote sensing systems. The main component of this system is Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR). A multi-wavelength lasing system is used for long distance communication. OTDR is used to check the displacement sensors based on microbends. The advantages of this system are that it avoids cladding loss, displacement, and temperature can be measured for a distance of 50km simultaneously Since the temperature and displacement are calculated simultaneously the signals are multiplexed and transmitted to the output port. Laser source with multiple wavelengths can be used for multiplexing the sensor signals. The enhanced version of the system can be obtained by using different types of microbenders and amplifiers with higher gain.
