An online engineering materials tutorial system

Abstract

A PC based system that functions as an online materials tutorial system is described. The package, managed by a file server on a Novell network, includes (a) database of engineering material type questions, (b) a commercial materials database from which students seek their answers and (c) a student answer recording system. The package can be used for both self tutoring purposes and for testing students of their understanding of concepts introduced during lectures on engineering materials.<>
