The image of seeing-off to the war (ritual actions, prohibitions and omens) in oral stories about the Great Patriotic War

Abstract

В статье рассматриваются, систематизируются и анализируются обрядовые действия, запреты и приметы, связанные с проводами в армию и на фронт. Материал исследования – рассказы о Великой Отечественной войне – демонстрирует значимость данной темы в российской культуре. Группы действий, связанных с проводами в армию, проиллюстрированы примерами. Соблюдение традиции проводов способствовало тому, что воин возвращался домой живым. Методы сбора и анализа данных: анкетирование (работа с вопросниками), глубинные интервью; сопоставительное изучение текстов. Сделан обзор актуальной литературы по данной теме. Показаны перспективы развития: сравнение проводов на фронт в годы Великой Отечественной войны и во время последующих локальных войн. The article examines, systematizes and analyzes ritual actions, prohibitions and omens associated with seeing-off to the army and to the front. The research material – stories about the Great Patriotic War – demonstrates the importance of this topic in Russian culture. All of groups of actions related to seeing-off to the army are illustrated with interesting examples. Observing the tradition of seeing-off a warrior contributed to his return home alive. Research methods of data collection and analysis: questionnaires (work with questionnaires), in-depth interviews; comparative study of texts. A review of significant literature on this topic is made. The prospects for the development of the topic are shown: comparison of seeing-off to the front line during the Great Patriotic War and during subsequent local wars.
